Just got trough installing a new set of 3X3's and was wondering what the axle length should be with bug trans and type 2 cv joints and bus trans and type 2 cv joints. This is going in a play buggy so i might stay with bug trans beefed up a little rather than the big expense of the 091, not to mention i cant find one around where i live.

With bus trans and bus cv on 3x3's, you will need 19 1/4" axles. I don't think you will have enough angle to use type 1 stuff (bug/sedan). If you cant find 091 settle with the cheaper 002 three rib. You deffenintly want to go with a bus trans. though.

I thought stock bus axles were 18-3/4 to be used with 2x3's?

There are three lengths I know of.

18-3/4"
19-1/4"
and 20-1/4" I think.

I use 18-3/4" for 2x3 and 19-1/4" for 3x3s"
