Post subject:  stub axle spacer?

got my new axles and stubs from santa but ive been so sick the last few days i havent been able to get in the garage. i took my old stubs out a few weeks ago and found a spacer on the passenger side between the cv flange and the bearing but nothing on the driverside. is there a purpose to this spacer and why only on one side. should i pitch it, find another, or put it back on the new passenger side only? my guess would be someone replaced somthing on the driverside and accidentaly omitted this part. any suggestions? ive measured the distance between the two flanges when i installed my 3 rib and centerd the tranny with these measurements.

now that i have found this spacer depending on what i do with this spacer i may need to recenter my tranny.

I think on some of the china rotors they needed a spacer to make up the thickness of the rotor at the splines, so you don't run out of threads for the big nut. Measure both rotors at the splines and see if they are the same.

Was it on the outside(treaded end ) by the nut that holds the rotor on or on the inside (cv end )

If its the threaded end it is most likely the spacer Mike is talking about . If it is the cv end it may be the piece that slips on the axle before it is installed that the grease seal seals to

A picture would help if possible

please disregard post im such a dumbsh*t. I finally got the sand out of my vagina and went out in the garage to take another peak. after further investigation (looked at the back side of the bearing) i found the other "spacer". turns out its not a spacer at all instead it seems to be a race that the seal rides against. the driverside stuck in the seal instead of coming out with the stub.

If 16 is the spacer you are referring to, you need it on both stub axles.
