 Post subject: Bump steer

I'm putting a gm rack on. the way I have it setup now I have about 1/2" bump steer I know really none is the idea but is this a safe amount?? I do drive alot on the street

I may be wrong, but I think none is about impossible on anything with 8" or more suspension on a vw front end. I'd say your doing good with 1/2". You might be able to get it down a little more to like 3/8".

I moved I few things some and got it to 1/4 and if I shim the heim up 3/8 it's down to 1/8 just not sure if that's a good idea to shim it like that. Going to look at it more tonight and see if there is anymore or a better way then what I have.

It looked good last night but know I have to make a few parts today and hope it looks the same when it all goes back in ended up having about 1/2 out halfway up and 1/8 to 3/16 all the way so hope it works ok. I just wish looking back know I would of looked at this before I cut the old out to see where it was at stock
