In the middle of a buggy build and decided to go with coilovers and no torsion. I need to know what spring rate to go with. Have no way to weight the buggy without putting it all back together. Anyone running the same setup?? |

If I was going to buy a set of coil overs I would get air shock coil overs then u could get like a 375 and a 325 then use nitrogen for the rest. Your shocks would easy to get right that way. U can put up to 500 psi in air shocks. |

Without knowing the EXACT weight, length of the arm and location of shock any suggested numbers would be wrong. About about $360 WRONG or the cost of 4 new springs. Why not to buy the coil overs, do your final assembly weigh it then buy the springs. Avoid the BS do it right the first time. |

Even when you know the exact weight and supension geometry the selected springs are only a starting point. At least you will way closer than just having someone throw out some spring rates to ya. What works on Buggy "A" typically does not work on Buggy "B". Just to many variables. I have changed mine 3 times since I installed the first set. |

Fox makes 2.0 air coilovers 1 psi is equal to 1.10 lbs. Spring rate up to 500 lbs. Per corner. I have two buggies with emulsion coilovers, one with 400/325 and other with 350/325 spring rate. U may want to go up a little, just a suggestion. 360 WRONG ????????? My singel seater is going to have fox 2' air shox all the way around . Wrong ??????? |

thanks for the info. I'm going to run 2x3 arms. I'll just order the coilovers and then when its all together i'll weight it and go from there. Anyone ever run F.O.A coilovers? Are they any good or should i stick with fox? |

The last time I priced new springs they were about $360 for 4 of them. I ran the first FOA 10" piggyback coilovers ever made. I wasn't impressed at first but I'm sure they got their $hit together by now. For the price they worked real nice. |

I am wrong the springs should be about 175/175 then it would tune good and be lighter. If u wanted to save 400+ bucks u could put 2' x12' air shox on and leave torsion in,back it off just enough to help it a little. I do no people who run echo motors with no torsion and they haven't had any problems and they run hard with us. I don't know how much more a suby setup is than a vw. |

Fwiw, we run at about 100 cpm up front and 115cpm at the rear. Obviously it varies depending on the arm position. That's for as hard/fast trails as you like, don't have to slow down for anything bar falling off the track or hitting trees.  That's with a pretty rigid 8 steel-ply (11 ply total), and stiff damping that probably pushes them up to around 130/145cpm region. |

Everyone tells me a suby is right around 100lbs more the a vw. Not sure if thats true or not. I plan on running 2x3 arms, not sure on the shock mount location yet. Have to fab all that up once i get my shocks.I dont know if this will help out but its a warrior frame. Mostly I'll be useing my buggy for trail riding and maybe a hill or two. |
