Im gonna change the torsion bars in my single seat from 27mm to stock. I was just trying to find out if any body has ant info on spring plate angle with custom torsion and adjuster in it or preload on bars. Or is it even worth the trouble as far as climbing goes.

There's some good info in the tech section at mydune-buggy.com about clocking torsion bars.

thanks for the info i worked on it tonight and i didnt get them right i dont think. it only got about 13inches with 35 inch boggers on the back. i tried to turn up the adjuster but for some reason it only made it a little stiffer but not much higher. i would appreciate any info.

you may have to notch the spring plates a little or cut the factory stops off and use limit straps

thats why im having problems. this buggy has a long tavel custom torsion housing in it. all the other buggies ive had have all been stock torsion. so i dont have any idea what the preload should or any at all. the adjusters in the torsion makes it even more to think about.

this is just a ball park guess but i would probably start by getting the bottom frame rail level and then back the center adjusters all the way off and then run them back in about a 1/4 - 1/2 of the adjustment range, and then set the spring plates on about 32* - 33* and slide them in and put it all back together

this is how i did my old orange 2 seater with the aftermarket mid travel torsion except i set the spring plates on 28* or 30* (been a while) and it was a little too soft, so i added some parts store air shocks since mine dont have the center adjusters

like i said this is just a ball park guess but it should be pretty close, at least close enough the center adjusters should take care of the rest of it i would think

by the way, this is scott aint it?
