It has been a while since I posted. I have been out but with no camera man. Today I went with the Arizona Volkswagen Club on a 100 mile on and 100 mile off road trip. If you check out an Arizona map at 10 am we started At I 10 and Miller and took Indian Schl rd. (dirt) to where the Hassampa River crosses I 10 west of Phoenix and ran the river bed up to Morristown about 50 miles then down highway 60 to Wickenburg for lunch. Then we took Consellation Rd (dirt) and drove around by Denver Hill until we got to the Morristown Wash and took it to 211th Ave and US 60. I got back home at 5.30 in time to watch the last 1/2 of the Super Bowl. Saturday was the clean up fo Sycamore creek and Four Peaks. It was a busy day I belong to the AZ OHV Ambassadors who were cleaning up Lower Sycamore. BLM, Az Fish and Game and Az Parks and Recreation sponsor us. Even though it was all USFS land BLM lent a hand. I'm also a member of TRAl (Tonto Recreation Alliance) who was up at Upper Sycamore and Four Peaks. This is one of the larger clean up events. Five 20 yard dumpsters got filled in 5 hours.Note the snow on top of Four Peaks about 25 miles away.. The Saturday before TRAL installed a kiosk at the new Lower Sycamore Entrance. Tral works with the Mesa Ranger District suppling labor for underfunded projects and patrolling for problems. Another big project was building a new truck for AZ 4x4 Offroad Recovery. His ex girl friend stole the old truck titled in his name and registered it in her name. Police won't do anything. Only in America. Another friend bought him this one and we are making it do. Money was real tight so everything got salvaged. Even the hood was cracked. Chain and Battery boxes Two other friends gave him a large tool box and a new 9000 LB Warn winch for the front. Friday I made a front mount and bummper for it and forgot to take the pictures. |

If you get out this way check it out. Joe was pulling out a stuck truck Sunday out at the Rolls which is directly behind where the clean up was staged from. It is not pretty like the last one but gets the job done. http://pictures.sprintpcs.com/mmps/009_ ... ze=615,500 http://pictures.sprintpcs.com/mmps/009_ ... ze=615,500 http://pictures.sprintpcs.com/mmps/009_ ... ze=615,500 Here is a little recovery video from last week. These truck were stuck in a water retention pond. The rain guage indicated they were under 50 feet of water after the last big rain. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jqe6wDQGbA4 |
