It finally happened my grand daughter decided to make a circle track and left it behind my Suburban. Her calculations were a little offand also crushed the forks. Somehow the front tire and rim were unscathed.
It has been nearly fourty years since my last chopper build. I deconstructed a cherry Columbia Five Star bike. It got another set of forks hammered over the existing forks that were pinned and chrome tubing was used to keep the forks from bending. A Banana seat and a steering wheel from a 56 Ford toped it off. Sorry no pictures exist. here is the build I started yesterday afternoon.
Nothing real radical. Without building a jig I wanted to keep it simple.
Amazingly enough the front wheel did not get bent.
We started by cutting out 10" from the seat tube of an old Huffy bike that was laying around and de brazed the top tube.
Next the top bar got shortened, renotched and tacked back in its new location..
Next the rear arm got extended a few inches.
It starting to take shape. A rear tire, shifter and fork bearings were needed.. A quick trip to a couple of nearby thrift stores and we came back with another old Huffy with good tires, shifter and fork bearings. It also had fenders and handle bars that could be cut down to make sissy bars and stubby fenders.
Next was building the 38" forks. I have removed the forks from center tube and it got to dark to dig them up. It will get an upper triple crown for support. It got to dark to do anymore today.

We managed to get the fork and upper triple crown built and patch several tires.
It was time for Beta testing. Still to come are front and rear brakes and bobbed fenders, etc.
