Yesterday I took the rail and Joe out to scout the next recovery.
This one will need to be winched up 300 plus feet.
Im hoping we can get it started and open up windshield enough to be able to use the Toyos own power to help get it back up the hill.
This was very bad for the driver, eight weeks later and he is still in the hospital. He was winching up a sand rail when the rail pulled the Toyo down the hill. The Toyo had been converted to a straight axle with front rear lockers and a double transfer case. The driver also was very experienced. I believe he thought the rail was light enough that he did not need to use a tree or other vehicle as an anchor and was sitting on the seat without a seat belt. This is a very nasty hill last two times we were there all but the two vehicles that were locked front and rear had to be winched up. Both times we were there we were anchored to a tree. Thieves stole the winch, front shocks, driver rear tire, stereo system, cb, onboard air, battery. We are going to try to open up the windshield and replace the battery, three tires and broken distributor cap to use the Toyo's power to help with winching it up the hill.
