A nieghbors kid side swiped a customers one owner 1988 Jetta that was parked and ran off. Of course the INS. co wanted to total it. Since it only has 359,000 miles on it, I am fixing it so he can go another 150k.

I found some perfect (before the hail storm) but of course they were black.
Saturday I stripped the doors to a shell and painted the insides.

I did not get to far today but they are on and I roughed out the front fender.

While not visable the impact cracked the bondo and paint on an old repair to the drivers C pillar and 1/4 panel rear of the new damage.

Today's progressive.
One of my favorite toys. No hole dent puller uses temporary weld on studs.

Rage filler one of the best to use. It does not clog sand paper.

It has been a bit cool so just to be safe I'm letting the coats of primer dry a couple of days between block sanding.

Must be nice to live in Arizona. If that car had 359,000 of driving in my state and it would be more of an "ultra light" How many dash pads have you replaced? :D

The one in this Jetta is perfect. As far as taking heat VW made great dash pads ,cold affects them more. For ugly you should see the one in my 1975 Surburban. :) Most all the ones I changed were theft related. Picked up the drivers door clips today. Car is back with my customer. There is a 1979 BMW and 1988 Citroen behind the Jetta.
