Hey all!
Found the site about two weeks ago and haven't stopped reading since.
I live in the North Carolina mountains, but came here VIA Texas (hence the screen name).
I just picked up a buggy after a 20 year absence and am slowly starting to sort out where it's gonna go.

It will be a budget build as I am getting ready to build a new house and have three kids (that sucking sound is the money disappearing from my wallet as I type).

I needed a dual purpose buggy to keep the wife happy, so it is street legal and has too much chrome for my liking...but if momma's happy, everybody's happy.

It's got a DP 1600(?) stock to the best of my knowledge. The old guy I got it from didn't know anything about it, he just drove it around his neighborhood. And I haven't had time to open it up and check everything.
It met my criteria for a buy, it was clean, it ran, was street legal, the price was right, and had shiny stuff on it for the wife.
I used to be a fly fishing guide for 15 some odd years, so I will be selling a boat or two to fund this project.
I've gotten a ton of ideas from you guys already, thanks for the site.

The pic was from before I bought it...but hey, it's a start.

Thanks for the welcomes.

I do know the search button is your friend, but will have loads of questions down the road...
My past buggy was a homebuilt w/ the beer keg tank that I picked up for 300 bucks and went nuts w/ it until I had to move, couldn't find a buyer and gave it to a friend. I've heard it showed up to a few "run what you brung" races in Texas, so I hope it has a good life.

I also have a project car that's been on hold for a few years since I moved from Tx, because I now don't have a shop...soon to come I hope. It's a '69 Porsche 912, the engine is fresh and I've been eyeballing the dual webers I stuck on there for the buggy (Hell, I'd stick the whole motor and tranny on, but I can't afford the parts any more...marriage has a way of doing that to you).
Even though I love the 912, I'm a dirt guy at heart so the rail will be getting more attention.
Thanks again for the welcome and I hope to see some of you guys around.
