What can we do to get more guys of us to put on a helmet. I realize how safe these things are but why do we take such a chance. I have a friend here in Tiffin that rolled a buggy at Silver Lakes. In the sand no less. His head hit the frame and he is now sitting in a wheelchair drooling. We take much bigger chances than that. Hell I have rolled at least 10 times not once with a helmet on. I feel like I have pushed my luck about as far as I should.

I noticed NCbuggy's helmet at Curts hillclimb. Looked pretty cool and lightweight. Dunno what kind it was though.

Yes I noticed that also. It was full faced but still pretty open.

It's a pit crew helmet made by Simpson. I like how your view is not hendered. It has a quick latch so it's easy to put on. Here's their web site. www.simpsonraceproducts.com

I checked out the Simpson site. Looks like the price is $139. Is that right? If so that is a good price.

Hey Curt you need to start wearing a helmet now. Do you realize how many guys would start wearing one if you do?

I have found german themed helmets http://www.jafrum.com/Motorcycle-Helmet ... 8Ta38Qahj0

All I need is a spike and some leather aviator goggles.

On a serious note, I wear a half shell helmet on my street bike. It's pretty light weight. It would protect from a rock or a roll bar hit in a buggy. A cheap one is about 50-60 dollars. check the rest of that jafrum.com web site.
However, I covered my tube in padding. (pipe insulation) I also have a high roof. I know a rock could come in and get me, but also even a light helmet weighs a few pounds, thats alot of extra weight jerking your head around in a roll. On the street bike I wear a half-shell. In the demolition derby's I wear a full face and a foam neck brace, but I'm probably not gonna be sportin one in the bug anytime soon. I'm not saying a helmet couldn't help. But I think I'm gonna keep washin mud outta my hair for a while.
