i know for me i am looking at building mine and finishing...well in the good old state of NC since 2004 i think if it is not built on a pan(fiberglass buggys) then it will be tittled as a "custom vehicle" which could save you money since you say its a car...not a offroad toy...should help drop but i knwo all the laws are different....what state are you in?

Geico wont touch home builts. Old Yeller is titled as one. You cant fake it with a Beetle title either. I asked. If you have a claim & its not a Bug they will deny the claim. State Farm covers em though.

These folks will do it , too. Pretty cheap, too.
Easy to get coverage and they pay out no problem.
Got a few buddies with show cars that use them.
One had to make a claim and it was paid quickly and with no bs.

Mine is through State Farm and it's written up as a "roadster." I've tried finding cheaper but so far no one can beat SF with all the discounts I get (lots of vehicles and home)

I live about 30 miles north of Indy,in the great small town of Atlanta. I have American Families Ins. and my buggy is titled as an on-road/off-road vw dunebuggy...I think my ins. is around $27.00 a month for Lia.
with that being said, I think its cheap due to how that State Of Indiana titled it, I have a Motorcycle tag, because of the way its titled, I dont have to have a windsheild or fenders. I do have to wear glasses and I also have to have a M/C endorsment on my D/L....nor do i have to wear seatbelts but I always Do !
