I use a 661 Comp 2 downhill mountainbike helmet. Its lightweight and gives huge amounts of visibility. Its also quite 'cost effective'..

I really wanted a Simpson Pit helmet, but they're not available on this side of the pond..

I don't need a helmet what I need is a cup... Cause when I get in the woods they get so big they tend to hang out the back off my buggy and bounce off all the other Buggys as I drive by lol

After coming off of a 4 wheeler a few years ago and getting 36 stitches I started wearing a helmet :shock:

Wallmart has flat black DOT half helmets with a snap on visor for $40-$50 thats where I got mine

Hope this works of my roll. I had a severe concussion and missed two weeks of school and work. Was going for my second bachelor degree. Still don't wear a helmet and even on the motorcycle where its legal to not wear a helmet. Guess I need knocked in he head harder to maybe knock some sense into me lol!!!!

Helmets should be optional. Being strapped in a buggy with a helmet on can be more dangerous. I had a light roll on the bounty at Tennessee last year and it took me 6 months to get lined back out at a chiropractor. On bikes, yes helmets are a must. Just saying they should be optional.

I have always worn a helmet and I would agree that a heavy Motorcycle helmet without a neck brace could do bodily harm in the right circumstances. However, the odds would say you are always better off with a helmet that without a helmet.

I just got the AXLE off road helmet below. It is super light weight and comfortable with full visibility. I will be trying it out this weekend and I will let you know what I think.

while i appreciate the thoughts and concerns of others, i still believe that it should be left up to the individual to decide whether or not he or she wants to wear a helmet. if a participant wants to wear a helmet then by all means that is their right.

If you do decide to wear a helmet, the AXLE Off Road helmet was extremely light and comfortable. I wore it all afternoon and actually forgot I was wearing. I got in the jeep to drive home and was still wearing the helmet.

I got a $17 head so I bought a $17 helmet at walmart. Minnow buckets are $3 so I feel good about myself. That wreck I had in '03, I'd paid $10k for it b4 I hit that ground. I left a pool of blood 2 ft long.If ya ever think I'm dingy , cut me some slack. lol

Because I live in a state where Hockey rules...I would suggest a hockey helmet. Very light weight, very breathable, designed for impact and adjustable for growth. You also have options, no visor or cage, wire cage, half glass visor, and full glass visor. Not to mention some of the new helmets look badass!

I am not sure if the helmet the RZR guy was wearing was effective as it came off. I know he took a hard hit but come one..., then again, it could be drivers error, just as his driving that was caught on video.

If you want full protection the only way to go is a full face helmet, why only protect 50% while you can protect 100%?

I had a full face crush when I was a teenager. I rolled a three wheeler and it landed on me. helmet flew off after 2nd roll never wore that helmet again it was junk. But it saved my life probly.

Like it or Not.. Helmets Save Lives.. I have never heard of anyone dying because they were wearing a helmet. I know he was not wearing a seat belt but he died due to a head injury.

Man Died at Biscuit Mountain

OAKMAN, Alabama -- A Hueytown man died Saturday afternoon after an ATV accident in Oakman, authorities said.

Joshua Harper, 25, died after the ATV he was riding flipped while he turned around 4:30 p.m. at the Biscuit Mountain ORV Park on Blue Water Road, according to Walker County Coroner J.C. Poe.

Harper and his wife were riding a RZR ATV in an open field when it flipped over, Poe said. His wife, who was wearing safety restraints, suffered slight injuries and was not taken to the hospital.

Poe said Harper was apparently not wearing a safety restraint and was pronounce dead on the scene of head injuries.
