I know most of you guys run dry sumps, but I hav'nt gotten there yet.
I've got a Wicks filter, then a thermo valve leading to the bottom end of 96 pass cooler, (I think, it's about 1 sq. foot) with thermal switch on the out put for a fan. After racing this weekend I heard the fan running after shut down. I set it up this way as secondary cooling if needed. Now think It should be on intake of cooler. Did n't actually look at the oil temp. guage, but it is all set to operate at 180*. So, should the fan switch be on the intake to the cooler. I'd heard that you can over cool an engine.
The oil temp sender is in the rear relief spring plug. I'm sure different sender locations will give different temp readings. Would a drain plug sender be best? Thanks, Dave W.

Your fine with it on the "out" side of your cooler. I just put my fan on a toggle switch and turn it on and off with the buggy. You dont have to worry about over cooling your engine. That would be like worrying that you have too much power, or too much fun!
