This is my first aircooled build, but have built many many motors before so i have a fairly good idea of whats going on.. my questions is i have built a new 2332 with a new cb stroker case, after everything was assembled an i was getting ready to fire it up it seems that the motor is very tight an is putting a very good strain on my hi torque starter.. is it common for an aircooled to be tight from the begining until it is broke in good?? i have the timing set at 10*btdc,.004 end play, c95 camshaft, new starter and optima battery..also has anybody had any experience with the compufire ignition system??..also i have a 10.6:1 cr
thanks in advance!!

Is it on a 6 rib with a 3 rib bellhousing? Did you have to "draw" the motor to the bell housing with the engine mounting bolts? Certain Gland nuts (CB is one) require you to trim about 1/2" off tip of the input shaft or it will bottom out in the gland nut and effectively take away your end play and bind things up. You can tell if this is happening by grabbing your pulley with engine installed and see if you can still feel a little endplay or not. It should still be there.

I once had a stock motor with a BAD line bore job and it took a high torque starter just to crank it.

if you over tighten you'r case nuts or put you'r oil slinger in backward will also cause you motor be tight to check slinger pull pulley off an turn motor an see if its still tight .

kybuggy1-the input shaft may be my problem.. i noticed when i was putting my motor in that the 6 rib input shaft was longen in comparison to my 3 rib..also my flywheel is too close to the gear on my starter causing my starter to not disengage..could this be a bellhousing issue..it came off of my 3 rib?

6 rib starter on a 3 rib bellhousing will cause problems.
See the pics I put up in your other thread.

Sounds like the starter problem could be as Gary (turboblue) described. In fact, I think a 6rib starter on a 3rib bell could cause your other symptom of the starter having trouble turning the motor , too.
Is it REAL hard to turn over by hand? Or is just the starter struggling? Just for reference, its not all that hard to turn over a 13:1 2500 by hand with a 1 foot long (or so) wrench on the crank pulley (my 11 yr old can do it). So it shouldnt be tough at all for you to turn over a 10.6:1 motor by hand. If it is, I'd still suspect the input shaft. Check that end play by grabbing your pulley n seeing if you feel any at all. If there is none, you gotta drop the motor no matter what anyways.
