I am new to buggies. I have a 2275 stroker with a single delrado carb. I ran the buggy up and down the driveway half a dozen times then parked it while I cut tires. WHen I decided to get back in the buggy and pull it in the shop it would crank and idle fine, but stumble at high rpms, it also would just about die everytime you put it in gear without alot of reving. The buggy did have some old gas in it could that be the problem?

I would definatly get rid of the old gas for starters. Then see how it responds with new gas. You will need to give the motor time to use up whats left in the fuel lines, filter and float bowls before you will know if that was the problem. Also chek or replace the fuel filter.

IF THE CLEAN GAS DON'T GET IT CHECK THE IDLE JETS IN THE CENTER OF THE CARB

The Idel jets have very little affect on high RPM running. If its bogging right off Idel and then clears up and runs fine then I would agree.

I have tried fresh gas and the stumble is still there. Also put new plug wires and new plugs. Also checked the jets in middle of carb... Any other suggestions?

After you get it going , get a vacuum gauge and make a port off your manifold. It will tell you you have a vacuum leak , warped or leaking valves , worn valve guides , bad rings, all around even compression, weak springs, worn cam lobe, distributor not advancing, etc.A good healthy motor should have between 17-22 psi with a STEADY needle.Another example,If the needle bounces one number you have a bad plug wire. They Are GREAT! They are only $25 at Auto Zone.Fuel ports and gauges are Very helpful as well.Scan tools are a must for fuel injected OBD 1 and 2 motors of coarse. On Board Diagnostic (OBD). Years ago I spent $1800 guessing how to fix a 4.3 Chevy S-10. But then an old black guy walked up and said "Stop what you are doing and go get these tools. It turned out to be an $11 pick up coil in the distributor.Do not even open the hood on a car unless you have these items. You said you changed plug wires , but off the top of my head ohms check your plug wires. Start off needs a good spark and good compression to lite off the rich fuel. Top end ,the wires are carrying a heavy load. Those spark plug leads that are screwed in to the wire are sometimes not screwed in all the way from the factory. Clip off a half inch and re screw them if you have to.And never yank a wire, ANY wire.Strands here and there break.

Turns out the main jet was to small. A lil work with a small drill bit and it cleared right up.
