i have a stock 34 pict-3 carb i turned the bypass srew out 2 turns and the volume srew out 1 1/2 turns. was running ok but not sure where they should be. bc i set the timing after was around 30 btdc set it at 7 but would not keep running moved to 10 then got better but still not wanting to idle. so i need some start setting or just some input. and the motor code is a H5 and i have a 009 if that means anything.

thanks guys

Thats the trouble with an 009 they only work well with a 34pict when over advanced. If you find a dual port vaccum advance distributor the engine will run better due to more initial advance.
Well written carb adjustment article:

I have a few distributors in a box and I think one is the vacuum type and is new or barely used. I will sell and ship if you are interested. PM or e-mail and I will look more into it. Just an offer and trying to help.
