Im currently running a stock motor, gonna put a bigger crank in (i know i should just wait and go big when i can, but i gotta keep up with my group.) But my question is putting this stroker crank in, will i get more top end or low end? i have a 2 bbl carb, 110 cam, 1 1/2 tepee with a slightly shortened stinger, about 2". |

Are you gettin new piston and cyl? Might want to call someone like shadetree and discuss your options. Just adding a crank isnt as simple as that. You need to know deck heights rod lenths and witch pistons (A or B). If I were in your your shoes build a 1641 10to1 comp. Dvs1 went all over wellsville with one on a 3 rib. Have your heads cut 100 1000ths put some 88 piston kit in it and go. trust me my old 1641 went anywhere. |

I agree. The stroker crank should give you quite a bit more torque, that you will feel the most at bottom end, but without building the top end of the motor to suit it, its not really worth all the effort IMO. I think you'd be better off to wait til you can build the whole motor. |

I think i may just wait. But im still going to attempt to get this crank. The motor i have now is getting pretty whipped. The pistons and cyl's are about 4 or 5 years old, and i dont really intend on buying new ones unless they are 94's. Whats probably going to happen is that im gonna jsut gather parts and hopefully have it by mem day. I just need to sell the two sets of tires i got and the frame. Spread the word!! haha. If i do the 78 crank and the 94's will be a 2332 correct? |

2165, i think. 94 x 84 crank will get you a 2332. |

if you are planning on cutting your block for 94's then while you have it at the down have it clearanced for the bigger crank.its a little bit more money but if you are planning on doing this in the future then you can get the bigger crank and the blocks already done.and look at the cost diffrence between the 78 and 82mm crank and you may decide to just go that route.get alot more motor for not much more money imo.and yes the 2bbl will work on a 2165 you may have to jet it diffrent than what it is now but you can tune them to work fine.chad |
