The only post I found is Rockrockets failed one. Ive got 2 of these nearly new so I have a backup. Its supposed to be as hot as an MSD which is a plus & I always carry a 009 & Bosch coil so if they both fail I can get out of the woods. Has anybody other than Rock used one & liked it? |

is it a module inside the distributor, or is it a whole compufire setup control box wires pickup...etc? |

Sounds like a pretty high dollar setup. if it has four coils that's some pretty hot spark. I don't see how that can't be good. I'll bet you never gas foul a spark plug!

Mofoco sells em for 200 bucks. Its supposed to put out 60,000 volts & for that money its a great deal. Its supposed to be run at Baja & takes the punishment so I guess Ill give it a shot. |

my buddy has one, personally im not too impressed with it. he did burn out one coil pack on it. buit he says he likes it alot. i dont know, i will stick with my msd Dave |

hey jeff i do get on here some times and yes i do have a dis-ix i have ran all kinds of ignitions and compu-fire has been the best it buns great plugs look great much better throttle response. |

i do not run this ignition. i have run compu-fire pointless and hated it. it was the hardest starting pos ever. why run anything but a 009? they work great and they are simple as hell. simplisity is bliss with the VW's! Iwas told once that the best ignition is acually a factory unit. it is like a 009 but has 2 sets of points in it. my uncle runs one of these, he was offered any ignition at appletree at silverlakes for it! so why add bunches of wires and crap for a big red distributor cap and a neat looking coil when it really gets you nowere? |

Ive got 2 of them.....for free. I actually prefer a 009 with points & a blue coil. I just figure Ill try it out. |

Im hoping for good results. It uses a 009 as a base. The rotor is replaced by a magnetic trigger that sends a signal to each of the four 60,000 volt coils. Rather than 1 coil cycling to provide all the spark you have 4. That should mean more voltage due to the load being divided by 4. A single coil drops output at high rpm because it cant keep up. |

you will like it my engine runs a little cooler and you can retard timing a few degrees i think it is better than msd and you do not have all those wires and big box to keep dry |
