OK so what is up with my carb's. I have a set of dull solex carbs and every time i get on a hill side or even a slight incline it wants to die out and if i shut it down or stall it out i have to hold the throttle all most all the way open to get it to start again then it starts and sounds like it is only running on 2 cylinders. after a few seconds it will start to clear up and run good again. this only happens at idle speed or slightly higher when i get on it runs good. I know solex carbs are not the greatest but i don't think they should do that.

i have cleaned the idle jets and the filters.

Check the float levels.

How did you get the chassis tubes through the air cleaners?............

it's just the stock fuel pump. what would i check for and how would would i check my floats i know how to get to them but once i am there i don't really know what to look for. i know that every thing should be clean and nothing should be sticking is there any thing else to look for.

Sounds to me that you're sloshing out the vent tube, flooding. I bought some kit from A.J. Simms, they were just 6"-7" or so pieces of tube, to change out the original. I bent them a little, now the the float chamber vents are just below the upper air filter plate. I can take and post a pic if you want. Dave W.

don't know what just happend. I read your post, grabed the camera, drove to the garage, took a couple o pics and described what I've done to the carbs. Posted and then every thing started to run over other things like a big halucination. After backing out could n't find the post, so I'll try again. Still no pic's, I'll resize them. I shrunk them down but somethings screwy with pic postings on the site here. It wants a 0 pixel high by 0 pixel wide image.
Anyway other mods to my Kadrons, got rid of the flow restrictive air filter mount in favour of just some thin ready rod, (an other A.J. Simms kit), new throtle bodies, new floats, larger venturi's and bigger jets.
The flooding issue is in lots of articles, (and common to many carbs) a piece of hose is a quick, easy and a cheap fix. I'll be running a 2276cc engine, so I figure the least amont of air flow restriction the better.
