Ok so here is the deal... my carb has crapped out on me...its a 2 barrel from a flathead ford v-8...almost impossible to find a rebuild kit at a decent price... I work for an auto parts store and i have a customer of mine who said he would sell me a 4 barrel holley 600 cfm for a good price, I can get a 4 barrel to 2 barrel adapter that will bolt on my intake manifold. Has anybody had any experience with anything like this? Would it be worth my while to do it? I have no clue... |

if ur gonna ride the roads,it would be awesome, but the slightest hill it will dump and flood out,4 barrel sucks on hills, unless its an offroad eldrbrock carb |

I have a motocraft 2020 (I think that the #) its the good ford carb they use on TONS of offroad trucks and stuff. Rebuild kit is like 10-15 bucks. You can have it for 50.00 |

I have a 1641cc motor...small for a 4 barrel...thats my real concern...i know the carb is in good shape and he had it on a bronco that was set up for rock crawling...so i know the hills aren't a problem...I just want to make sure i'm not going way to big... |

I started out on buggies with a 4-barrel, I had a 2276cc with a Johnny's Fourplay intake and a Holley Off-road avenger, and it sucks BIG time, it runs awesome on the street, but crappy in the woods, I tried everything to make it work....no luck. I ended up trying an Edelbrock Off-road carb and it seems to run better on the street, but way worse in the woods, my advice from my experience with them is to stay away from them and run what is supposed to be on the first place. Like the Webers, Delortos, Solexes, Kadrons, and Progressive ones. It's just my $0.02 |

Yea the Motorcraft carb is off of a 302. It is a 2bbl. They are awesome offroad carbs. This is what I always ran on my 4x4's. Even had one on a 4.3 chevy with a sqaure bore adapter plate. |
