ive always started out
55 idles
135 mains
175 air
f7 or f11
and the pump valve should be a 0
the valve in the bottom of a weber

Something I was once told.
Venturis are usually 2-6 mm smaller than the intake valve size. The smaller venturi the more bottom end torque.
Fuel pressure is critical. 2.5 psi.
Float level 10-11 mm. Start with 10.5 mm
Emulsion tubes F-11 are the most popular
Idle jets 1.6xs the size of the venturi.
Mains 4.1-4.3 xs the size of the venturi. a little rich is better than too lean.
Air 1-2 sizes larger than the main
1500 -2000 rpms is controlled by the idle circuit
2000-3000 is fed by the idles and the mains
idle jet size and float level are what you use to tune this rpm range.
3000-4000 is fed from the mains
4000-5000 from the mains and airs
acc pump jet use the smallest you can and still accerate. Adjusting the rod can make a significant change.

It seems to work ok for most engines with snmall to medium sized valves.

How hard does the VZ 15 cam pull in your engine? I have only used it in a 1776 to 1915 engines and liked it. I want to try one in a 2386 I am building for someone.

thats actually a buddies engine. we ended up with

55 Idles
175 AC
135 Mains
F7 Tubes

Thanks Chris on the 135's just about where it needs to be.

I also run the VZ15 on my 2332. I ran a 14 last year, I have not really had a chance to run the new motor much so can't comment yet but the couple times I called on power there was no lack. In my motor right now I have

55/200/145/F7's 110 Race Fuel 100%

i ended up changing my idles to 47 and my mains to 150 it was loading up on the bottom endso i went a little smaller on my idles

That combo does not sound right. 47s are really lean. Is it possiable that your mains are to rich and you had to compensate with the smaller Idels?

Have you double checked fuel pressure and the float levels?

i had 50 idle jets in itwent to 47 and it runs perfect,im not gonna change it back to 50 because it would load up a little, idling up a steep hill

If you feel it's perfect, it probably is.

For some reason I thought you were asking for jetting help not stating a good place to start.

In that case how do you like the cam in the 2332?. I want to build a 2386 with a VZ 15 cam. I know how it runs in an 1835. Does it still pull hard at 4000-5000 rpm with the larger 2332 displacement?

In my opinion the VZ-15 cam works better in a smaller displacement motor. There are other choices that work better in the larger motors. The FK and W series. 1.4 Rockers are a must to take full advantage.

I like the VZ15 in mine. Just personal preference again. I think I have way more bottom end than most, but the VZ series I supposed to wear faster than a "proper" FK with 1.4's. I like my setup A LOT.

Personally for the driving I do, I really like my Weber version of the VZ 25 for my 2180. I had the lifter bores sleeved at around 20,000 miles. They should of been done before that. The 2386 engine I want to try the VZ 15 in is for a rail with stock 12 volt gearing. I was hoping the less duration would still let it pull hard with the stock 3/4 gears. I never drove the 1835 or the 2180 with anything other than 1.58 and 1.26 3/4 gearing so I have nothing to go by. I have a DDS 11 1101 cam in my 2386 It was Dean Lowrys version of the FK 8 it had more duration and lift but not quite an FK 10. It is also a very torquey engine.
