I’m starting to figure out the install of my industrial air cleaner set up. I need to figure how to mount the air box because it didn’t come with any mounting. I have some round gas tank straps I think will work. I hope this is ok. Do I need to worry about the T not being in the center? What do you guys think so far? Plumberpill are those the street 90’s you were talking about?

brad those look like regular 90's but they are the sch. 40 pressure fittings which have a shorter radius and deeper sockets then drainage (dwv) fittings. by putting the tee in the middle and using street 90's from the tee to the filter you can make up for the "offset" in height between the the two

This way will also give you a better balanced airflow into each Carb. Bill do they offer a sanitary "T" that will divert the air in both directions? |

FYI, something to keep in mind is the fact the engine "grows in width from hot to cold. It can grow as much as 3/16" or more. The crossover tube from carb to carb should have a rubber coupler to allow for expansion. The urethane couplers on top of the carbs might be enough but I don't think so. |

I didn’t even think about expansion and contraction. Do you think this will cover it? I don’t know about the rubber T being able to handle the vacuum. Do you think it will be ok? Is there any other suggestions?

i think i would skip using the rubber tee for two reasons, the sanitary sweep goes towards the passenger side carb. not sure if that would make a difference. the second reason is it looks goofy. i picked up a 2" pvc double 90 that has the sweep going both ways, should look a lot better.how about using two rubber couplings between the carbs and the 90. that would give you enough flex for expansion. |

I agree on using the double 90. The rubber "Y" will tend to direct more air in to one side possibly ending up with different size jets in each carb to get it tuned properly. For the expansion you could glue stubs in the ends of the double 90 and put the rubber coupleings there. leave a gap between the ends of the pipe on both sides. Or you could raise the 90s up in the couplings your allready using on your carbs enough to allow them to move side to side. A 3/4" inch gap should be plenty. |

If you had room you could make a big "Y",, each carb being the top's of the "Y". that would allow enough expansion too. |

Brad, why don't you go with the first setup and use rubber "fernco's" instead of the urethane. The same rubber as the sanitary rubber Y in the 2nd set of pics. |

Got it finished it’s not the prettiest but it should do better then the fry pan filters that were on it. Thanks for the help guys and thanks for the double 90 Bill.
