Picking the right Turbo is the single most important part of running one. This is were bigger is not only not better, its the worst thing you can do for a woodsbuggy. For a 1915 I would be looking at a small T3 with a .42 A/R Exhaust and around a 50 trim. If you go draw thru make sure you get a Turbo with a Carbon seal. A Blow thru set up does not require the seal. A Turbo in this size area will give you a quicker spool in the low RPM range were you need it for the application. You also do not need a large exhaust for it either. You can buy a VW Offroad exhaust from CB Performance. Its a 1 5/8" and is a little large for a 1915 however there are not to many venders offering them and it will work OK. |

If your venturis are large enough the 40 is fine. Since its attached to a Turbo I will assume the mods have been done to it to accomadate boost. Turboblue can confirm this. |

Have you actually used this source. My experience has not been good and I did not even buy anything from them. They never returned my calls. Also they use china repop Turbos and charge you Garrett Turbo prices for them. There has been many complaints about them on http://www.shoptalkforums.com. |

The first couple of times I called I kinda got the run around and the shop helper wouldn't let me talk to AJ until I sternly told him I have a deposit down on a $3K turbo system I better be able to talk to him and he was right on the phone. Now when I call I tell him who I am first and I get whatever I need. I haven't ordered anything from them but the turbo system thats shipping any day now. Everyone I have talked to says they make great turbo system stuff and have been around a long time and higly recomended. They were also recomended to me by Darren at Prowlers Speed and Custom and by Moore Parts. It seems the comments on samba are mixed and most of the people having problems were complaining about time on items they sent to have work done. As far as the china turbo's, you might be right. I don't have a clue on that. Ill let you know what it is when it gets here. |

Well, I hope it all works out for you. I will say that I have looked at the Turbos on AJs website and they are China repops that can be bought on ebay everyday for 150 bucks. Keep us posted. It looks like the turbo's they use are Turbonetics. Like you said looks like they are made in China. I googled some reviews on the turbo's on the street seen stuff like honda rice burners and stuff. The turbo's seem to get good reviews. As far as the price wise. I'm happy with the system I got for the price. I don't know anything about turbo's. Therefor I cannot put together a system of miss matched parts taken from junk yard and make it work. I will be happy to have a system that has been used and tested many times. |

Wow $150 bucks for turbo is cheap... You might be right. I don't know enof about it to make a good agrument on the subject. haha. It is ebay too... I looked at the price on some of the kits for like a honda or acura which seemed to have less parts and goodies than my system. Average price was $3,500... |

If the Turbos are in fact Turbonetics then they are not China repops and are of good quality. The china repops usally will not have a name on them. There is the possiabilty that the China repops AJ was using were failing a lot and he wised up. When the blades on a Turbo go it usally takes the engine with it. Please post some pics of your turbo when you recieve it so that I can see what you have. |
