If you have the ability to build your own motor then you can do the clearencing yourself. If you consider that route I'm sure we can to talk you thru it.

I need the case bored for 94mm cylinders, how can I do that myself without the equipment? I can build a engine just never modified any cases. Im not sure if I wanna clearnce for a bigger crank yet or not. I think I may wait to do that with another engine. THanks for all your guys help.

Boring for 94mm cylinders is not considered cleariencng so yes you are better off to have it done by a shop.

Sorry, I was looking at 82mm cranks and just had clearancing on my mind. I meant to bore the case for the cylinders. Thanks for your input.

Don't forget about your heads, you have to open them up for the 94's too. As far as Jim's custom VW's, he did all of my work and he does a good job.

30 mins north of columbus. I can build the motor myself just need the machine work done, I may have to get in tough with mudd mutt about the machining. Hes the one that turned me onto this site from the delaware county fair.

Thanks for the reminder about the heads, I am prob goin to buy some aftermarket heads that are already open to 94. Thanks for the info on Jims, if mudd mutt cant do it I may have to get intouch with jims.

when Jim cut my block, he welded a plat behind # 3 cylinder. I herd some people packing it with weild stick instead. it might be something to look into.
