I have got a compression leak between cylinder and head. Does anyone use these copper gaskets.

yea, they work well, but you will loose compression

I always try to use head gaskets. They make a better seal. I always have the heads flycut to compensate for the copper gaskets.

i run 0.040 flycut heads

Yeah, they work good but if you do not run them now and add them, say for instance, your gonna run the .040 copper gaskets, then you compression will be less. Either machine .040 off the bottom of you cylinders or fly cut your heads to make up the difference. I like machining off the bottom of the cylinders myself but everyone has their own way of doing things.

i cut 0.100 off the jugs and 0.100 out of the heads should have taken more out of the heads to make up the 0.40

Why did it take so much cutting to get the compression where you have it?
.100 off the jugs and either .040 or .100 off the heads?
Did you happen to use a set of B stroker pistons?

Just curious........... 8)

no stroker just was not happy with it when i put dual carb on it stock 1915 runs about 9.5 to1 i think one day i am going to take copper shims out and try it may bend a valve will need to check before start and run just like to play around

I use copper gaskets on every engine I build.
