what ignition system do you have? bosch sells a rotor that has a rev limiter bilt in, all you do is lift the cap and slip it into your 09 distributer, it works pretty well, and is only about $25.00

Actually, that's kind of funny, because when I first put that rotor in, on the first ride, that little button in the distributer cap was gone. So I put a new cap on, thinking the cap was defective. And I never had problems with that little button again, but I always carried an extra cap with me. I never put two and two together. I ran that rotor for about 3 years and it only happened once, so I guess that's not too bad.

Back to the orig. question, I would use a 5500 limiter in your motor.

I think my 1641 about maxes out at 5000... I don't run a rev limiter but do give all the ol 1641 has everytime.
