I was curious to see if i could get a few tips on some mild in my own garage head porting? I dont want to go extreme, cause i would probably screw them up.If i opened the exhaust to the diameter of the gasket would that kill my bottom end or help me and as for the intake,im not real sure what to even do there,it dont look like there is a whole lot of room for error.I'm getting ready to build my motor and would like to get a little more performance on the cheap, any help would be great.

The exhaust side of the heads work best in a NA motor when the exhaust pipe has a larger ID than the Exhaust ports. So if removing material to the ID of the gasket still leaves you a step then do it. Other than cleaning up casting flash and intake manifold to intake port matching I would leave the rest to a pro with a flow bench. It is very easy to take a decent flowing head and turn it into a lousey flowing head.

Yeah, what he said.

Port match the intakes no deeper than an inch into the head, clean up the intake manifolds, and leave 'em alone.

Dont want to sound stupid, but what does NA motor mean? The inside diameter of the exhaust is definatly smaller than the ID of the header,so would it be best to taper them about an inch deep to the ID of the header or leave them alone.
