 Post subject: elec. ignition.

i want to get rid of my points and switch to electric ignition. what would i need to order... some one mentioned Petronix product. would anyone know the part numbers i would need toorder for a 71 1600cc engine.

1847V for a vacuum distributor.
1847A for the 009 version.

man i feel dumb.... how would i know the if i have the vacum or the 009?

Vacuum advance has a vacuum pot on the side of the distributor with a hose running to a port on the carb.

009 mechanical advance has no vacuum pot and the last three numbers on the side of the body end in 009.

No dumb questions here man........... :wink:
