Ihad a crower 61004 cam in my2176 i realy liked it it went from 1500-7000 plus rpm's but when i went through my motor it had a bad lobe so i had a scat c35 (new)it has awsome power but it doesnt come off the line as quick plus it seems quiter with the scat c35 well at least at idle should i find another crower cam or what i didnt even know they made vw cams (crower)i looked at the specs on the crower it had more lift but not as much duration hugh does any one know where and how much the crower is or where to buy em but if there gonna lose a lobe ill just stay with what i got does any one know any history with crower vw cams?????? |

im on my second motor--its a 1915 with a 110 engle cam. It seems to me like its great it has awesome top end, but doesnt load up when you trailride( my buddy has a 120--he has to keep revin it up to keep plugs clean) My first motor was a 1641 --it had a crower cam. When i tore it down after it grenaded the cam was in 4 peices, but there was so much destruction i cant say for sure it caused it--i dont think it was as peppy as the 110 though |

Aren't thre fk's made for the 1.4 and 1.5;1 rockers. If you aren't running them --omit those two cams!!!! With the size eng you are running the w120 is the best for you in the w cams -but the vz15 has the best lift and duration for your set up! {thats my opinion!} The next in the vz cams is the vz25 which has more duration and less lift!- and is for closed corse racing. The more the duration the more rpm's. You have opened a thread that will have alot of different opinions! Good luck Travis. Mark |

Well im runin 1.5 ratio rockers i thought it would have helped the C35 scat ? i have the same cam in my 1679 in the brown buggy it sounds pretty mean hits a good lick but in the 2176 it has the ratio rockers and its sounds almost stock my heads have big intake valves stock exaust valves (size) would this cause it not to lope????? and does this help me or hurt my tourqe???? |

Mine is 2643 cc, 13.69 compression, ported superflows, 40 mm venturies, weddle 6 rib trans, stock first gear ratio, 4.57 r/p, and 39.5 cut boggers. I chose a scat C95 with 1.3 pauter rollers. This combination has great bottom end! The scat C95 had the widest powerband listed. I hope this information helps and goodluck. |

I have a VZ-15 Engle cam for sale, by the way I like the FK-7 cam, it has awesome torque! Good power band in the mid-upper rpm's, I use the 1.4:1 rockers. I run a 2276cc with 5.6 h-beam rods. |

| Post subject: | engle110 vs scatC35 |
According to the spec sheets the 110 and the scatC35 are pretty close to the same thing im runnin (the scatC35 )now i realy havnt had a chance to get it in the woods yet to see how it realy pulls but i do have that cam in my other buggy and its only a 1679 and it woke that motor up a lot the big motor had a crower cam in it and it seemed a lot bigger motor had no lack of power if i had enough balls to hit the hill and if i didnt make it it wasnt from lack of power the scat still has plenty of tourqe at low rpm's but when it does come on you know it!!!!!!!! |

i could be wrong but i think that the reson thay use a 110 is so when you let off the gas and get back on it . she comes right back to life.what i would do is look at the guys that are climbing and that go good and youll see that thay are running the same stuff.(thier must be a reson for that)and if you want to go like thay do. copie them! |

The cam should be the last thing you pick for your engine. There are MANY variables to be considered, such as: Weight of buggy, heads, size of engine, gear ratio(s), as well as type of driving and even wheel/tire wieght. What works for one person might not work for another unless he has the exact same setup. If torque is what you are after, stay conservative.. For stock rockers (and yes some run 1.4s or 1.5's on the W series, but Engle does not reccomend it), W-110, 120, 0r 125 (nice cam), or (for 1.4 or 1.5 rockers) the FK 7, 42, 43. There are tons of cams available and you will get a lot of different opinions.. |
