Well, for the same price you can build a 1915. P/C's are about $175 to $200. Then the machine work to the case and heads around $200 to $250. And while its apart, a descent cam $70 to $100, new bearings, under $50. Oh, while they are opening the heads for the P/C's might as well hane them flycut them also to bump up the compression, I think 9.5:1 is a good compression for the woods. My "guess" is for around $600 you should have a good motor, that is if the case and crank are in good condition and need no work. Don't forget that big engine will need to feed. Single carb, dual carb or FI, these can get pricy also.

I love my 1915 never has given me any problems at all. I have run it hard and fast, hill climbed and trail rode in the dusty D&K last Memorial Day. For those that was there know it was blinding at times. You can't go wrong with the 1915 and if money is willing go bigger. I have thought of building mine into a 2275 and it would cost me another $1000 to do that.

I had a 1641 for years and drove the piss out of it but when it came time to spend money on it you might as well go bigger!!
