well i was putting a friends engine together this evening and ran into a problem. The cylinder will go down clear to the step. and it is super tight. my linear calipers says the cylinder is about .001 bigger than the opening. Any ideas. its a stock 1600.

Well, it is what it is. Measurements do not lie so you have a couple choices. Make them fit or get some machine work done. If it was me and it was only .001 off, I would take some Emory cloth and some WD-40 and open up the hole on the case .0005 all the way around. It only needs it where the step is so it should only take about 2 minutes per hole. R |
