Anybody here built a 90mm stoke VW engine? If so what did you have to do to do it other than clearencing the case and cam. What case you used etc.

Getting ready to order all the parts for a 2498cc 94 x 90mm engine.

CB 7.5mm raised deck alum. case.
DPR 90mm crank
CB 5.7 Buick journal H beam rods.
FK8 camshaft, stroker notched.

Need a little extra clearance on cam bearing towers, little deeper notches in cam (don't lathe turn it), bit more rod bolt

Gary does the motor need the longer cylinders or does the 7.5mm high cylinder deck take care of it. I would assume my case is standard considering it only has a 78mm crank and would have to add cylinder shims.

The raised deck compensates for the longer cylinders.
You still may have to shim accordingly to achieve the desired deck and compression.
This case allows you to keeps those to a minimum.

Just so Im clear here, are you saying you do not need longer cylinders and just shim the stock length cylinders to get the required deck height. I ask because I have heard that you need to go with longer cylinders because of the increased stroke and required length of rod to run thew longer stroke.

The long cylinders are theoretically just longer from where they sit on the case to the end that seals on the head.
I can't find the paperwork on the last one
