Post subject:  Weber Carbs Cleaning

I tried something different on cleaning the carbs after all of the troubles I have been getting, my dad showed me an old trick on cleaning carbs, any carbs. Take a pot of water and put your carb and parts in it, put it on the stove and put heat on high and let the water boil. The aluminum on the carb itself will absorb the heat and bubble out the gunk and other stuff in the carbs. When finished, dump the water out then get your carb and parts out of the pot, Take a can of carb cleaner and clean the carb throughly and you will see the stuff came out like you would not believe, the boiling procedure helps break the stuff loose also. There was even alot of dirt on the bottom of the pot when I was finished. I put the carbs together then put them on the motor and pumped the gas 2 times, and it fired up like it was fuel injected and idled smooth. This is the best I had it running ever.

Thanks for your inputs, I mean like fuel injection, cause it runs so smooth and very responsive. Very happy now. But I will find out tuesday.

Usually I let the the water come to a boil, and let it set for about 10 min. boiling, it will not boil the whole pot of water because the alum. on carb itself will absorb the heat. It will buble like crazy only coming out of the carb.
