Mine's sand sealed also. Roy and I both have the B&D serpintine belt sand sealed system for our dry sump systems. Don't you have a dry sump also, Steve? I think the B&D dry sump pulley system is the best you can get, no modifications. And Gary (Turboblue) sells them for a very good price.

I run a Sand seal set up . I was just curious how many others do and if those that dont have issues. Are you guys running the machine in style or press in.

RaceBugg1098 are you talking about the press in style with the sleeve? I dont like those. I prefer the machine in style. They are basically a standard seal however the case has to be bored out to use them.

yes, i ran the sleeve type. i ran it for years with no problem, but my last 2 motors they won't hold up. i just figured that the thrashing that racing puts on it (some times 4 hours straight of 3500-6400 rpm) was too much.

I have a question about the sand seal... Say im climbing a hill and dont make it, And while backing down i get up against a tree at a pretty good angle and while it sits there oil leaks out around my pulley.... would a sand seal prevent this or just slow it down?? Thanks

It keeps it from leaking out,or dirt getting in
