I've searched this site and I can't find any info on EFI on a air cooled vw. I'm getting tired of screwing with my IDF

You can always go water cooled. :D :D :D

I have never heard about anyone having good luck with EFI on an AC buggy

I had a buddy that took the efi off of, I think a rabbit. It seemed to be flawless but finding a rabbit now a days might be a trick.

I had a buddy that ran the cb injection on his woods buggy... he had to screw with it twice as much as anyone running dual carbs and it wasn't even an open loop system! If you put the time and effort into the dual carbs, they will work just as good. cleanliness is everything with dual carbs!

I Have seen several AC buggies running the CB system in the woods and they can work very well. I am running Megasquirt on my AC buggy and have been very happy with it. I believe a lot of has to do with taking the time to learn how to adjust your tune to get everything working properly. Don't expect to buy or build any system that you can just bolt on and go. I have a lot to learn, but would be happy to help if I can. Feel free to email me if you like. gouldvw@gmail.com.

Running it on my 2.5 stroker and love it! It does take a minute to get tuned the first time... But once you do its ON!

I bought the Megasquirt assembled. The rest of my FI system is a collection of mainly used parts. I built an intake and modified Weber ICT endcastings to accept injector bungs. I am using a throttlebody from a Volvo, ignition is from a Ford escort and my turbo is from a Kubota. Spend some time on shoptalk forums lots of great info there.
Good Luck
Kenric
