Hey guys I'm getting ready to order my heads and want to figure out the compression so I can have them flycut if needed. Running an engle w110. My deck height is .055" . I plan on going with 044s from CB which have a 55cc chamber. This would put me right at about 8:1. Should I aim for higher? Must stay on pump gas. Looking for a good balance of power without sacrificing too much longevity/reliability.

My setup:
1835
CB 044s 40x45
Engle w110
44idf or 40idf single.

pump gas and power don't belong in the same sentence when talking about air cooled. I would shoot for AT LEAST 8.5:1 if not 9:1. Personally I would go 12.5:1 and buy race fuel.

I would use 9-1 if I was building it. Still ok using 93 octane with this combo as long as the timing stays reasonable. DOn't over advance and it will last a long time.
