I know a aluminum case would probably be easier to build a 2500 with because of more meat for clearencing but how many of you have used a stock mag case,and what issues did you have,if any? |

Any bigger than 2332 i would use aluminum case . Saw the headaches firsthand with a 2387.clearancing leaves very little tolerance and im not an engine builder.just my 2ยข Sent from my SGH-T679 using Tapatalk 2 |

I used a CB performance Mag case on my last 2232 build and I really liked it. Here is an interesting article... It looks like they are going to stop making the magnesium cases. http://www.hotvws.com/news2.php?contentID=74 |

Aluminum cases are much stronger. I used to beat the thrust out of my race motor 3-4 times a year!! Built one with a alum block, problem solved. |

Have used both for years. Mag is injection molded, aluminum is sand cast. For bigger engines past 84 stroke I like the pent roofed CB or Bugpack cases. They are available with a raised deck, eliminating the need for big spacers. |

I have built em both ways ..Your gonna wantta go Alum , with a 90 mm crank if that's what your plan is..88 crank with 95mm piston works nice to .And a little less rod angle with the 88 so you a lot less wear and tear on piston and jugs ...just my opinion tho ..Really don't no much about the stuff |

The case that the crank came out of,had quite a bit of JB weld and cracked from where the two halves meet to the end of where it was clearenced. I know many have had this combo and not had any problems but i think ill pass on a mag case. $900 is just a kick in the balls for a new case. |

Exactly. Make a Passat buggy. And $ave. lol. V6, fwd trans, Lincoln aluminium IRS diff, 4 930 joints= $900. |

Im still old school but it is amazing how much it cost to build a vw thses days. If i didnt have a 16 rib ,id build a smaller motor. |
