Austin's buggy started popping at idle and when ya let off. It turned out, his $280 ceramic header with less than 40 hours, burnt pin holes 5 inches out from #3and 1 exaust head. And that bus stub axle bearing that kept blowing up was from China also. I absolutely despise Chineese cheese. Chineese cheese will eventually turn people to 4 wheelers . I am absolutely tired of spending lg money, an off day or missing a ride because Mr. Empi wants us to keep coming back. In itself a/c is awesome but these inferior parts turn me to w/c.

Austin heard from others that the "Big Boy " is the king dingaling header back in 2012 and he ordered the stupid thing. I refuse to put empi on my rides. And those 1 piece rotors... DO NOT USE THE ONES THAT YOU HAVE TO USE A STEEL RING BESIDE THE AXLE NUT. The splines will shear in a month. They are for swing axles. The parts guy said "this is the way to go"...After $75x2+shipping they shear because they are soft chinese steel.SO I have to go and buy the wide ones because the calipers are set up for it. Not to mention I was stuck out in the woods. Am I winning? Probably. But I want to tell all the young bucks to build out of the junk yard if you can. Everything I have fabbed from factory is still bouncing thru the woods.

90 percent of the junk in our homes is Chinese and probably all the nuts and bolts you use to bolt your junkyard parts on with theirs no getting away from it just cause your using a car from Germany or america or wherever dont mean that parts were not outsourced I bet your passat buggy is more Chinese than you know

Austin spent $280 40 riding hours ago. He tightened exaust nuts trying to stop the leak and one stripped. I'm retired so I put his new one on today and re threaded the stripped hole. If we'd send a message to the suppliers that we are tired of paper thin pipe, then they could send the message to EMPI and others. Where it's made sucks, but how it's made sends me thru the roof.

A common sentence in the woods with 4 wheelers and trucks is, I'd love to have another buggy or a buggy, but damat workin on it every day." Austins factory slave cylinder has a broke off bleeder port so I swapped it out today. 5 years ago I got it off an old 86 Vanogon. It still works great you just can't bleed it. But by God! How do cut brakes and pedals go bad in just a year or 2? And rebuild kits are $70 plus shipping for 2 seals, 2 boots and 2 clips. When ya got a yard full of buggies a battery for example can just SIT and go bad. And don't get me started on IMI starters. But they have improved. They are not v6 friendly. When things go bad , they hit me harder than people with only 1 buggy and they ride once or twice a month.

Y'all will come around to my way of thinking on this issue in time.lol 4 buggys. that's 32 wheel bearings, 5 carbs, 16 tires, 4 charging systems..Normal wear I can deal with , but when something is designed to go bad or not last , I stroke out. 20 hydraulic brake and clutch cylinders, 20 pistons, lol.
