I have a 1641 now it's spitting up oil from the aftermarket breather for the valve covers and it's smoking from the oil filler vent so it's building crankcase pressure, I'm looking to rebuild but I don't want to have the block cut due to low budget, what are some good piston/cyl sets? I thought about going forged for a possible turbo in the future

Just a guess. I bet a set of TOTAL SEAL rings on some wo' out cylinders would be the ticket. I got some for Austin's buggy for $90 last month (92mm). BUT... I did read the directions. It read..Cylinders must not have an edge at the upper end of the cylinder. Maybe shim the cylinder up 10 thousandths.

I never knew about total seal rings, but I'm thinking it's to far gone it's has like 90psi on one of the cylinders but none are over 105psi I'm really just looking for some direction on what brand of rebuild kit, I looked the other day and found out it's a big stud block so a fresh 1915 is allot of money away haha. And I refuse to go water cooled there's a reason I have a vw symbol tattooed on my arm .
