Ok I'll check it and see.. I just can't get rid of the pop at idle for some reason. Checked jets and intake and exhaust.. no leaks. Haven't checked timing and I don't have a sync tool yet.. maybe it's one of those. . Posted using the WoodsBuggy Mobile App |

Check your valve adjustments and make sure your idle jets and passages are clean Posted using the WoodsBuggy Mobile App |

my son Austin just got rid of his pop at idle with his dual webers. It was throttle valve bushings in backwards. I think they may have been that way from the factory. not sure. Absolutly dangerous now. |

Ok adjusted timing and I get a whistle noise from #2 cylinder. All cylinders have 120 psi cranking compression. . Take plug out and put air hose in sparkplug hole.. rotate motor and it'll blow through exhaust then rotate on around and the Intake has that whistle sound?? Sorry to sound so dumb but it's got me puzzled.. gonna adjust valves in the am and see if there off.. Oh I adjusted timing to 30 degrees total advance Posted using the WoodsBuggy Mobile App |

A wo' out valve guide will make a valve, seal one lick, leak the next, seal 2 licks, leak again and so on and you will falsely get your 120 psi. |

B4 you do anything get a vacumm gauge and google up on it. I think the needle will bounce irraticly if it is a wo' out valve guide, a bad spark plug wire will bounce just 1 number. Check for an exhaust gasket that looks good but is actually broke in 1/2 or a rusty pin hole letting in raw air. The vac. ga. will tell if you have sticky guides, weak springs, intake leaks, bad plugs, burnt or warped valves, wo' out rings on and on.And NEVER put new heads on so so rings. It will smoke bad when the butterfly valves are closed. |

Thanks for the help DD. I got it fixed. Intake must have been leaking. Changed gaskets and fixed it. Posted using the WoodsBuggy Mobile App |

I would run it at 32-34 degrees total advance. If it gets hard to start when hot, back it off till it cranks easier. Leave it there when you find the sweet spot. Don't really need to time it using numbers, set it where it runs best and still starts easily. Usually on a race gas motor I start at 32 total and find the spot from there. |
