Darrel....Get a dam good filter! In that 1 st pic there is residual locktite. I had to break down a motor once because of some other reason. But while I had the rod bearrings off I noticed they had lots of scoring and if you look real close you'd see a tiny tiny red dots here and there. I ran a Fram tough guard, but, I'd change oil and get a filter from Nascar lol. I got a recently rebuilt w/c motor once and it locked up because someone had too much rtv around the valve cover and oil pan and it all clogged the oil pick up screen. Pull your pick-up screen off and investigate! Spray it out with carb cleaner and you will see some red flakes. Catch them while you still can. These tiny red dots get past the oil filter probably thru the built in oil filter relief valve maybe. |

Posted using the WoodsBuggy Mobile App I don't know what filter you're looking at ? I always use a Wix Mobil 1 or Napa filter they are all made at the same company. I think you're looking at a old filter that I pulled off of a rail buggy a while back but that's not the filter I run the motor on. And I run Brad Penn oil also and I've had my fair share of oil filter problems 2. |
