In AL, do you have to have a muffler on a buggy exhaust to be street legal? Baffle, spark arrestor, muffler?

i run all over gardendale with mine without a baffle in mine with no problem.had a couple cops tell me as long as i not acting a fool and raising hell in it i am ok.
