hey i need to know the biggest crank that i can put in my 1641 without cutting the case. i ride in wellsville so i need a bit of a bigger motor because all of the people i ride with have 1915cc and bigger. the only advantage i have is my height and tires. i am planning on getting a new cank, cam, lifters, and flywheel so if you have any suggestions on what i should do please post. dave |

the engle 110 cam is the way to go my cousins and everyone else told me that for my 1641 they say you can really tell a difference but i run 1915 as far as crankshaft i am not sure how you could go on that dvs1 or some of the other guys would definetley know as far as the crank and other parts |

i second that ont he engle 110 cam it's great in my 1641. i bought a new stock crank for mine. get the case and heads cut and get some bigger cylinders. you could make that a 1915 with 94mm pistons and cylinders i believe. i think it is like ten bucks a hole to get your case punched out. |

yeah i was going to go with the 110. but theres also this other cam i forget what it accually is but its made to give you more low end its says its a hill climber cam. but probably a 110. ive been told by dvs1 that a 78 crank will fit in and not have to cut the case. |

With that small piston size you about have to stay with the stock stroke. I build a spec engine that was 87x74 (1759cc) stroke and had to notch the case a bit at the cylinder opening. You will have to cut the case with a 78. Even then you only have a 1855cc (87 x 78 ) engine, why bother? If you have the case apart, go with the 94mm piston kit. 1915cc with a stock 69 stroke. Stroking a small bore engine isn't worth the trouble IMHO. |

If your going to buy a new crank,C B Performance makes a new forged 74 stroke that is counter balanced for the same price as a 69 stroke [$179]. Throw in a 110 cam,94mm pistons, rebuilt stock rods, and a new set of heads[what ever you can afford],and you will have a great running 2054.You will have enough power to do most anything you'll ever want.I ran that size motor in my two seater with a 6 rib, street elemilater heads, duel 40 webers for about ten years.I just built a 2054 for a friends rail and he has 041 heads, and duel kardon 40's and it still runs good. You will have to buy some barrel shims for your 94's{$20] and a little grinding. But whoever builds your engine can do that very easy.JMO MIKE |
