was wondering what my oil temp should be? right now im running the stock cooler and my oil temp sender is plumbed into the sump area tapped into the type 3 block off. first off is this a good place for the temp sender? i figured reading the temp of the oil about to be sent through the motor was good. after several days of slow rides with ocasional burst my motor was pretty well broke in. today it was balls to the walls pissing my neighbors off to try and get it as hot as i could to seat the rings. well try as might i could only get about 170 out of it and that was putting it straight in 4th gear and letting it struggle all the way around the field.

Its not a party till the cops show up! You're doing something right. That temp is normal and where it should be

I figured that was about right. I was just hoping to force it a little hot to help seat the rings. I guess I'm happy that it wont over heat but its gonna take awhile to seat the rings.

That's warm enough to evaporate the condensation that forms on the inside of the motor as it cools down.
