What is the best degree mark for 10:1 c/r ratio with 111 octane? 82x92 stock heads 5.5 vw rods.oo9 dist with electronic module.Dual weber 45's. |

every engine may want something different, that being said, most end up somewhere between 28* & 32* but unless ive checked the pulley to make sure the timing marks are right I usually start with 30* at 3000 rpm and see how it runs also you might want to check that 009 and see how much its advancing especially if its not german made |

I've just got a stock pulley on it, so I don't know where 30 degrees is. I forgot to mention that. I was more interested in the idle timing. |

I usually don't worry about idle timing unless im just checking the advance of the distributor, and the only 2 suggestions I would have for a stock pulley is get a new pulley, or a timing light that you can dial in the advance and then you can set the pulley to 0*, but a degree pulley should be cheaper than a good timing light |
