What is the best degree mark for 10:1 c/r ratio with 111 octane? 82x92 stock heads 5.5 vw rods.oo9 dist with electronic module.Dual weber 45's.

every engine may want something different, that being said, most end up somewhere between 28* & 32* but unless ive checked the pulley to make sure the timing marks are right I usually start with 30* at 3000 rpm and see how it runs
also you might want to check that 009 and see how much its advancing especially if its not german made

I've just got a stock pulley on it, so I don't know where 30 degrees is. I forgot to mention that. I was more interested in the idle timing.

I usually don't worry about idle timing unless im just checking the advance of the distributor, and the only 2 suggestions I would have for a stock pulley is get a new pulley, or a timing light that you can dial in the advance and then you can set the pulley to 0*, but a degree pulley should be cheaper than a good timing light
