I am going to get an aluminum case to build my moter. I wanted to know if one brand is better than another. I have been told that the empi ones are no good by a shop. But he did have one setting on the shelf for 300 more than what you can find the empi's for online. I have also been told that they all are made at the same place and the brand does not matter. Just dont want to spend the extra 300 if I dont need to.

i think most are made in the same place. most are made by autolinea.

I personally like CB Performance. I have always had good luck with their cases. I actually like the Magnesium case by CB Performance.

They are all the same. Pick one and inspect it VERY closely before you assemble.

depending on how big of an engine you want to build but would prefer a mag case over aluminum for anything 2387 or smaller, the aluminum cases are undoubtedly stronger but weigh about twice as much as the mag cases

and as for who makes the aluminum cases, there are different manufacturers but for the most common one found on websites and in magazine adds, yes they are all made by autolinea, however there is a difference in who each distributor chooses to have do their final machine work, therefore I would suggest buying from cb performance which from my experience has excellent machine work and they also offer a raised deck case which none of the others do that I am aware of, my 2nd choice would be buy from bugpack.
