This is compatible with points, and all points replacement devices (Pertronix, Compufire, Compu-tronix, Crane, etc). Just read that on the page. duuuhhh lol |

The only problem with the msd limiter even though its cheaper is that you have to run the msd 6 or better box if I remember right. I have mine set for 1500 after 15% power loss...but that is not a scientific or a race tech set up its my insurance policy for my motor so I don't blow it....or if someone doesn't know what they are doing and dump it dump the motor at the same time |

how about a MSD 6AL box thats what i run .they have rev limiter chips.the msd will give you more HP.I run a 6600 chip |

no just a box will work. look up msd 6al manual and it will show you how. You can add the distributor later.You dont need a new one look around and find a used one.I just found 2 on Buycheapr.com for $125 |

I think ima just go with the petronix. That way if it fails, Im not dead in the water and have to get another box to be up and running. simply eliminate it. Don't ya have to use the MSD Coil with the box? |

no you dont need a MSD coil and if it craps out you can unwire it and run with out it. I have good luck with it and i do have a spare box in the trailer. hix is the only one that needed it but he had the digital box and he got rid of that and got a 6AL box . i did notice a big difference with the MSD it starts a lot easier and runs stronger . On the back page of the insulation instruction book, it does show how to hook it up to a petronix ignitor kit. What it shows is a white and red wire out of the msd box, you hook it to your ignitor. The black wire from the ignitor goes to the white wire of the msd box. The red wire of the ignitor goes to the red wire of the msd box which is also hooked to your ignition key. Now there is an orange wire from the msd box that goes to the plus side of the coil, and the black wire goes to the negative side of the coil. Then you also have a red and black heavy wire from the msd box that goes to the battery. It looks pretty easy. I will scan the diagram tomorrow and put it up for you to look at. |

 here you go jayrod, the way it looks this msd will fit everything. and i looked up the list on the coils and its compatible with just about every coil out there, they have a big list. Does this mean you are going to that swap meet next month? |
