having a problem getting fire ok first off it all started when i blew my eletronic ignition so at first i was gonna just swap the whole distributor so pulled it out but decided to just go on and replace the ignition so put it all back in so now its probably all off time i have never messed with a distributor anyway now im still not getting any fire to the plugs could that be cause its so off time or would it still have fire even if it was when i put it in i set it to top dead and slid it in and it went in correct and tightened it all down or is the only possibility that my new ignition was bad im lost on this one also i know the coil is putting out spark

if it was out of time u would still have spark. do u have a resister between the coil and distributer? is it gettin good ground from the coil to the dis? is ur rotor button burnt or any burn spots in the cap??
